Category introduction
ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal) fittings seal on a flat face with an O-ring compressed in a groove. Because the seal does not depend on thread torque, it holds up better than many cone-seal joints under vibration and repeated reassembly.
Selection notes
Check the O-ring size and material against the fluid and the temperature, not only the thread. The sealing face must be free of scratches across the diameter. Say so when the connection will be opened and closed during service — that is usually where ORFS earns its place.
