SAE

SAE — the Society of Automotive Engineers — publishes a large family of hydraulic interface standards used widely across North American equipment and in export assemblies built around it. More than one sealing form sits under the SAE name, so the standard matters as much as the size.

Ask which SAE interface the mating part uses before ordering — 37° flare, O-ring face seal and straight-thread O-ring port forms are all described as SAE and none of them is interchangeable with another. Confirm the thread size and the sealing form separately, and send the mating half's drawing when the equipment is not a current production model.
